|Volume One of the Rye Project is in collaboration with Willett Family Estate. The Volume One blend consists of a very low-rye (51%) whiskey aged for 6 years in new American oak, blended with a more aggressive 6 and 7 year Rye (74%) whiskey distilled by the Willett Distillery. While well-balanced for a unique Rye expression, the majority of the Volume One blend is the renowned Willett 6 and 7 year Rye. The custom cork top was inspired by the knob of a baseball bat that is a family heirloom of Jon Buscemi. The textured label was created in partnership with a bespoke wine label producer in Sonoma County.

A distinct batch of barrels were hand-selected especially for this commemorative release. These barrels aged for 10 years at Barton 1792 Distillery before being bottled at specifically 92.15 proof. This special proof is a nod to the year 1792 and to Kentucky being the 15th state to join the Union. The dark blue neckband on the bottle and back label are a salute to the official state seal. This is the sixth limited edition release of 1792 Bourbon expressions, the 225th Anniversary Bourbon joins previous releases of High Rye, Sweet Wheat, Port Finish, Single Barrel, and Full Proof Bourbons.
1792 225th Anniversary Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose:?Caramel, fruit, and vanilla cream greet you out of the glass. The fruit is reminiscent of cherry or strawberry. There's also a nice angel food cake note underneath.
Palate:?First thing I get is a little caramel, brown sugar, and oak, followed by a warm, juicy red fruit similar to what I found in the 1792 Sweet Wheat but more pronounced. There is a nice burn on the tail end that carries the notes of fruit and cream into the finish.
Finish:?Sweet, fruity, and oaky with a bit of caramel. The finish is medium in length and the whiskey leaves a nice ?full? feeling coating the mouth. There is a little vanilla and a nice spice to finish it off.

This hand selected barrel produces a deep rich amber color.1792 is full bodied with notes of cinnamon and pepper and lots of brown sugar and hints of maple. Long spicy finish that brings out oak, baking spices, and a dark fruity sweetness.
This bourbon was aged for six years in new white oak barrels before spending another two years extracting the subtle, yet sweet flavors from used port wine barrels. The rich vanilla characters of American oak mingle with the delicate fruit notes from port to create this magnificent whiskey.
