Chronic Cellars was started by Josh and Jake Beckett in 2004. The Beckett's have extensive experience working at their family winery, Peachy Canyon. With Chronic their aim was to produce fun but serious wines targeted at those of a casual lifestyle. Their first release was in 2008. Their wines are a true reflection of what the Paso Robles wine region has to offer. Every bottle showcases beautiful fruit grown in local vineyards by meticulous growers who recognize and share the same desire for high quality. They use the best grapes, barrels, equipment and anything they can get their hands on to produce enjoyable delicious wines. The results speak for themselves, Chronic has sold out every vintage since their initial release. In fact we at Vision Wine Brands were put on a two year waiting list as they expanded their production to meet the demand for the wines. In our opinion it has been worth the wait and are delighted to welcome the latest addition to our California portfolio.

Batch 55 embodies an opulent vintage, which saw its fruit grow amid lush rainfall and balmy temperatures. Nuanced aromas of sun-baked raspberry, crushed blueberry, freshly-turned earth and hints of nutmeg swirl in the glass, segueing to a palate of jammy blackberries, clove and caramel. This blend showcases Zinfandel's warm, luscious character, accentuated by time spent in our charred bourbon barrels, which lent a graceful, smoky finish to the wine.

The Warden is a Shiraz-based red blend with tons of richness and complexity. On the nose, there is ample plum, currant, and cherry intermixed with vanilla and cinnamon spice. The same flavor profile is evident in the mouth, picking up some licorice notes. The Warden celebrated those who cleverly ruled theses cunning convicts with top guard, using them as a source of labor to build public facilities ? transforming them into colonists ho forged a new country brick by brick. These men and women, both the incarcerated and their custodians, were the building Blocks of the nation that has now been known as Australia.

The California Gold Rush was a period of courage, bravado and curiosity. It was with these characteristics in mind that we crafted Gold Rush Red. Grapes chosen from the golden hills and valleys of California were blended to create this bold, adventurous testament to that intrepid spirit. Parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel form the backbone of this wine. Petite Sirah and Merlot were then meticulously selected to add complexity to this intense blend. Each lot began its journey in traditional French and American wine barrels. Then, in true 1000 Stories fashion, winemaker Bob Blue divided the blend, finishing it in a combination of new and used bourbon barrels. The result is a signature 1000 Stories profile: a bold wine with intriguing notes of dried herbs, charred vanilla and a pleasant hint of smoke.
