Description

The Order of Chartreuse was more than 500 years old when, in 1605, at a Chartreuse monastery in Vauvert, a small suburb of Paris, the monks received a gift from Francois Hannibal d’ Estrees, Marshal of French King Henri IV’s artillery: an already ancient manuscript from an “Elixir” soon to be nicknamed “Elixir of Long Life”. This hand-written document was probably the work of a 16th century alchemist with a great knowledge of herbs and who possessed the skill to blend, infuse, macerate the 130?of them to form a perfect balanced tonic. By the early 17th century, only a few monks and even fewer apothecaries understood the use of herbs and plants in the treatment of illness?

A distinct batch of barrels were hand-selected especially for this commemorative release. These barrels aged for 10 years at Barton 1792 Distillery before being bottled at specifically 92.15 proof. This special proof is a nod to the year 1792 and to Kentucky being the 15th state to join the Union. The dark blue neckband on the bottle and back label are a salute to the official state seal. This is the sixth limited edition release of 1792 Bourbon expressions, the 225th Anniversary Bourbon joins previous releases of High Rye, Sweet Wheat, Port Finish, Single Barrel, and Full Proof Bourbons.

1792 225th Anniversary Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose:?Caramel, fruit, and vanilla cream greet you out of the glass. The fruit is reminiscent of cherry or strawberry. There's also a nice angel food cake note underneath.

Palate:?First thing I get is a little caramel, brown sugar, and oak, followed by a warm, juicy red fruit similar to what I found in the 1792 Sweet Wheat but more pronounced. There is a nice burn on the tail end that carries the notes of fruit and cream into the finish.

Finish:?Sweet, fruity, and oaky with a bit of caramel. The finish is medium in length and the whiskey leaves a nice ?full? feeling coating the mouth. There is a little vanilla and a nice spice to finish it off.

Made from 100% Agave and rested in oak for up to 3 years, this tequila has round finish. The aging gives this spirit aromas and flavors of toasted agave, caramel, ripe fruit, orange rinds with spicy undertones. This is the perfect tequila for sipping.

This hand selected barrel produces a deep rich amber color.1792 is full bodied with notes of cinnamon and pepper and lots of brown sugar and hints of maple. Long spicy finish that brings out oak, baking spices, and a dark fruity sweetness.

MASH BILL WITH 95% RYE.
APPEARANCE: GOLDEN AMBER
NOSE: AROMAS OF OAK, DARK FRUIT AND LIGHT CARAMEL WITH A HINT OF CINNAMON
PALATE: SPICY, FULL BODIED, TOUCH OF TOFFEE
FINISH: DRY FINISH WITH LINGERING SPICE AND OAK NOTES
AGED: CHARRED OAK BARREL
INGREDIENTS: RYE AND BARLEY

This rich, aged tequila was originally created by Ravandi for his personal collection. In 2014 he released 1,000 bottles and, since then, it has become a limited, annual release of just 2,500 bottles. Diablito begins its journey in the iron-rich Tierra Roja soils of a pristine estate that we?ve designated solely for the allocated production of 123 Organic Extra A?ejo.Like intensely expressive wines that are grown at high elevations, the extreme growing conditions found on our estate in Jalisco's Amatitan region produce complex, exceptionally-flavored tequila that is ideally suited to lengthy aging. In the pursuit of perfection it's often said ?the devil is in the details,? a sentiment that captures the singular spirit of 123 Organic Extra A?ejo (Diablito). The Diablito on our label signifies our absolute passion for perfection and the devilishly good tequila you?ll discover in our bottles.
