To The Eye : The deep golden robe presents a delicate, lively effervescense. A voluptous impression.
On The Nose : Warm and autumn-like, the nose offers fragrances of candied chestnuts and honey with suprising notes of praline and lightly toasted hazelnuts.
On The Palate : The incredible balance offers the firmness expected of a great champagne as well as the opulence of roasted apricots, dates and figs which delicately coat the palate.
In 1851, young Charles Heidsieck founded his own Champagne house in Reims. He understood that the United States was an important emerging market, so he traversed America repeatedly north to south promoting his new brand. The stylish entrepreneur became known lovingly as ?Champagne Charlie.?
Charles Heidsieck Champagne is distinguished by the high proportion of reserve wines in the Brut R'serve. 40% of the blend is comprised of reserve wines averaging 10 years old, giving the wine uncommon depth and complexity. In addition to the non-vintage Brut R'serve and Rose R'serve, the winery produces a Vintage Brut, Vintage Rose and the prestige cuv?e Blanc des Millenaires.
Only 60 crus from Champagne are blended to create Charles Heidsieck Champagnes, but the three stylistic pillars that give the Brut R'serve its distinct character are Grand Cru Chardonnay from Oger in the C?te des Blancs, Grand Cru Pinot Noir from Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims, and the distinct Pinot Meunier from Verneuil in the Vall?e de Marne.

The Cabernet Sauvignon 1882 is round and consistent with a velvety palate and a sense of "completeness" from the well-developed linear tannins. Highly aromatic and immediately expressive, you'll find an alluring fragrance of plums, currants, dried cherries, cocoa, and violets followed by smooth flavors of red fruits with a hint of almond. The wine's complexity is made even more intriguing as the wine finishes with the subtle sweetness if white chocolate. If you choose to enjoy this vintage in its youth, we recommend decanting for one hour before serving, otherwise our 1882 Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to evolve and drink best in 5 to 10 years.

Full-bodied with a plush entry, layers of brown sugar, cocoa, mulling spices and currants fill the mouth and are complemented by rich, round tannins. The finish is long and smooth.
1881 Napa was created in one of the Napa Valley's oldest historical Victorian homes with a mission to celebrate the origins of America's premier winemaking region and the pioneers that founded it. The history of 1881 Napa is tied inextricably to that of its neighbor, the Oakville Grocery. At the gateway to the Napa Valley stands a landmark historical Victorian home and the oldest continuously operating grocery store in California, founded in 1881.
