After years of perfecting their craft, the master distillers at Alberta Distillers wanted to deny to push the rye envelope and come up with not just another rye whisky, but a better rye whisky. And so, Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye Whisky was born. A true expression of the skilled craftsmen who have made rye whisky their passion for nearly 70 years.

Glencairn Whisky Glass Set

The Glencairn Whisky Glass is a revolutionary whiskey glass that really lets one savor the taste and complexity of fine whiskey. These are great to use for any of your Single Malt Whisky's, Irish Whiskey's, and also your single barrel bourbons. With the tapered mouth, you are able to really smell all of the nuances the whisky has to offer. Any malt advocate will love a Glencarin glass! Champagne, Brandy, Wine... each has its own glass. Yet whiskey, the world's most complex spirit can be found served in anything from hi-ball tumblers to Paris goblets.

Glencairn Crystal solved the problem of identifying the ideal glass for whiskey, appropriately named the Glencairn Whiskey Glass. Designed by Raymond Davidson nearly 25 years earlier, its development involved pulling together the master blenders from the five largest whisky companies and asking them to perfect his initial design.

While the traditional style of whiskey glass is a cut crystal Old Fashioned whiskey tumbler, an iconic design that remains the most commonly used type of whisky glass. However, a tumbler does not hold and focus the aromas as much for the experience of the drinker as the other styles, which curve inwards towards the top of the glass. While not all drinkers may find the strong aroma produced by such glasses desirable, inward-curved glasses are often preferred by connoisseurs who consider the aroma especially important to the experience of a whiskey.

In 2012 anCnoc teamed up with Scots born illustrator Peter Arkle to launch a series of Limited Edition whiskies. Now living in New York Peter refers to anCnoc as 'remarkable liquid' and enjoys its 'magic' so it seemed fitting that he should work on producing the packaging for our Collection.

Not only was each tube and label design inspired by Peter's visit to our Knockdhu Distillery and depicts a unique aspect of our process, the liquid inside each bottle was equally as special. The warehouses at Knockdhu have been guarding the secret magic that is happening inside them for many years. They don't just protect the liquid while it matures but actually add to that maturation process. anCnoc would not be anCnoc without these buildings.

Nose
This dram has top notes of cut flowers and lemon meringue. It opens up to honey sweetness, creamy vanilla and a touch of sherry spice.

Taste
Rich and firm-textured, sweet flavours of raisins and honey, followed by orange peel and fresh custard topped with hot toffee. The finish is long, sweet, spicy and full of dried fruit and caramel.
