The 2016 A to Z The Essence of Oregon Pinot Noir is a beautiful dark color, saturated and brilliant all the way through. Classic Oregon Pinot Noir aromas of red and black cherries, blueberries, strawberries, baking spices, cassis, wet stones, and ripe raspberries turn to deeper, more complex notes of violets, smoke, game, coffee and clean earth. The smooth palate is succulent and vibrant presenting abundant fruit and spice flavors reflecting the ripeness of the 2016 vintage. A classic Oregon freshness gives the wine lift and balance as it heads into a long, elegant finish. The 2016 A to Z Wineworks The Essence of Oregon Pinot Noir is drinking very well young and has the richness, balance, structure and intensity to become more complex over the next five years.
A to Z Wineworks was started in 2002 by Oregon wine industry veterans: Deb Hatcher (Eyrie), Bill Hatcher (Domaine Drouhin Oregon), Sam Tannahill (Archery Summit) and Cheryl Francis (Chehalem). The two couples worked in the Hatcher's kitchen to build the original blend honored by Food & Wine magazine as the Best American Pinot Noir under $20. Recognition for A to Z wines as offering dependable quality for great value continues today and A to Z is the top-selling Oregon wine brand. In 2006, the group welcomed another Oregon wine veteran, Michael Davies, as winemaker, and partnered with Gregg Popovich (Coach of the San Antonio Spurs) to buy REX HILL Vineyards and Winery (established in 1982). A to Z has more collective Oregon winemaking experience than any other winery, experience that can make a difference in difficult vintages to stay true to the Essence of Oregonr.A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir has twice been named to Wine Spectator's Top 100 wines of the year; A to Z Oregon Pinot Gris is a perennial Best Buy; and A to Z Oregon Chardonnay is America's Best-Selling Oregon Chardonnay. Rose, Rose Bubbles, Riesling and a small selection of the best of the vintage, The Essence of Oregon Pinot Noir, round out the portfolio. In May 2014, A to Z Wineworks certified as a B Corp subsequently being named as a Best for the World B Corp four years in a row.
The wine has a deep, rich purple color. An intense raspberry fruit is on the nose, with black pepper spice and a touch of cloves and dried herbs. The palate is full with ripe tannins, big black and red fruits, followed by an array of spices.
The mighty buffalo is an iconic symbol of American heritage, a heritage woven with one thousand stories, unique traditions, and a pioneering spirit. Our country's history of hard work and tenacity lives on today in each of us and continues to be at the essence of America's character. This is the inspiration for 1,000 Stories, a unique wine aged in bourbon barrels-a reflection of our winemakers' pioneering spirits. It's not a quick process, but crafting by hand to meet exacting standards seldom is.
A crystal-clear a?ejo tequila with deceptive depth, presented in a stunning crystalline bottle. Since releasing the first a?ejo tequila on the market in 1800 A?ejo, 1800 continues to drive innovation with this beautiful contradiction of a spirit. 1800 Cristalino is aged in both American and French oak barrels for 16 months, after which the liquid is married together and finished in Port Wine casks for an additional 6 months. It is then meticulously filtered via a unique process that adds smoothness without sacrificing taste. The result is a spirit with all the complexity of an a?ejo tequila, and the silky smooth drinkability of a silver.
Voluptuous taste profile but soft and sweet, with notes of caramel, honey and vanilla. Medium wooden notes typical of Porto wood, with cooked agave notes remaining throughout the entire stay in the mouth.
Propiedad de Arednzano is located in a valley formed by Pyrenees last foothills. Like in all great winemaking areas, Ega River cuts across the property beautifully, providing not only irrigation but also regulating temperature during summer, creating a unique microclimate.128 hectares of Arednzano vineyards, with a majority of Tempranillo and Chardonnay varieties, are located in an area of complex geology with different soil features. This scenario is a winemaker's dream, as it provides different variables to play with in order to produce complex and high-quality wines. This unique microclimate provides perfect conditions for wine growing. 128 hectares, out of 355 hectares in the property, are dedicated to Pago wines production.Soils at the property have a tertiary age origin with variable proportions of slimes, marl, clay and degradation of limestone-calcareous rock. The soil has little depth above the bedrock (maximum 30 to 40cm), forcing our grapevines to extend their roots in search of water and nutrients, which produces a little bit smaller grape with an excellent concentration and quality.A natural vegetal cover and an excellent drainage system prevents the soil from being washed away during the rainy season.
