Description

Fermented in cypress vats & distilled by Don Valente Angel from agave Espad?n grown at about 5000 feet on thin calciferous-soiled low hills and terraces. Complex, rich, intensely floral.

Alipus was started by Los Danzantes to provide a market for family artisan distilleries. There are still hundreds of small mezcal distilleries in Oaxaca, and a number of them make fabulous product. Hector Vasquez and later Karina Abad Rojas have worked closely with selected small producers, both to improve their distillation methods and to help them with the complex paperwork required to certify their mezcals for export.

The intent was to provide small distilleries with a wider market so that they could stay in business, and it has worked: Alipus producers have been able to add stills and ? this is wonderful ? to bring their children back from the USA because there is now enough work for them ? as distillers! ? at home.

Alipus is now Mexico’s #1 artisan mezcal. Craft Distillers started importing the Alipus mezcals in 2012. Both Los Danzantes and Craft Distillers take lower than normal markups so that these distillers can be better paid and so that all of us can enjoy it for years to come.

Strikingly smooth to taste and beautiful to behold in its iconic Bristol-blue glass bottle, our original, multi-award-winning 6 O?clock Gin was born in 2010, perfected from an old family gin recipe. It has a soft and citrusy flavour, led by juniper, carefully balanced with coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, winter savory, elderflower and orange peel, all lovingly distilled for a deeply-delicious taste experience.

Description

Gorgeously aromatic, the 2020 A to Z Wineworks Oregon Riesling greets with bright fresh citrus (lemon, mandarin orange, lime sherbet, grapefruit) and tropical aromas (green papaya, lychee, pineapple), as well as revealing hints of honeydew, pear, apple, quince, apricot, and floral and savory notes of honeysuckle, rose, bay leaves, sage, and tarragon. The wine initially zips across the palate with lively energy showing a rich texture, noticeable salinity, and notes of the same abundant fruits that greeted the nose. The juicy palate has lovely, mouth-watering acidity balanced by a touch of well-integrated residual sweetness, making it off-dry rather than sweet. A long finish brings the bottle design's promise of spring to the last sip assuring that the 2020 A to Z Wineworks Oregon Riesling will be a crowd-pleaser.

A to Z Wineworks was started in 2002 by Oregon wine industry veterans: Deb Hatcher (Eyrie), Bill Hatcher (Domaine Drouhin Oregon), Sam Tannahill (Archery Summit) and Cheryl Francis (Chehalem). Recognition for A to Z wines as offering dependable quality for great value continues today and A to Z is the top-selling Oregon wine brand. In 2006, the group welcomed another Oregon wine veteran, Michael Davies, as winemaker, and partnered with Gregg Popovich (Coach of the San Antonio Spurs) to buy REX HILL Vineyards and Winery (established in 1982). A to Z has more collective Oregon winemaking experience than any other winery, experience that can make a difference in difficult vintages to stay true to the Essence of Oregonr.A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir has twice been named to Wine Spectator's Top 100 wines of the year; A to Z Oregon Pinot Gris is a perennial Best Buy; and A to Z Oregon Chardonnay is America's Best-Selling Oregon Chardonnay. Description

winemaker Bob Blue selected fruit from MendocinoCounty and Santa Clara Valley, a very old California appellation south of SanFrancisco Bay. The resulting wine is a perfect example of classic typicity, showing cherry fruit and blackcurrant with a touch of tobacco leaf. Ripe flavors ofZinfandel and Syrah were meticulously chosen and layered over this Cabernet, gifting midpalate, spice and rich color. This Cabernet was aged in new and used bourbon barrels, imparting complexity, depth and characteristics of charred vanilla, dried herbs and a hint of caramel. These wonderful flavor notes are specific to the bourbon barrel aging process. In true 1000 Stories form, this wine closes on a delightfully smooth andmemorable finish.

Our country's history of hard work and tenacity lives on today in each of us and continues to be at the essence of America's character. This is the inspiration for 1,000 Stories, a unique wine aged in bourbon barrels-a reflection of our winemakers' pioneering spirits. It's not a quick process, but crafting by hand to meet exacting standards seldom is.

The portfolio encompasses several outstanding wines: '75 Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc highlight Tuck's belief in the great value and quality of grapes from Lake and Mendocino counties. The Sum is a red blend highlighting his affinity for blending varietals to create a balanced wine with depth and breadth.
